“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you. ” Psalms 32:8 AMP
I love to explore the great outdoors. There is something about walking through nature that feeds my soul. I love discovering hidden springs. Savoring the smell of evergreen pines, taking a moment to catch my breath in pristine meadows. The thrill of turning a corner wondering what is on the other side. Curiosity, joy and wonderment fill my heart.
Our walk with the Lord is not designed to be stale, boring and lifeless. I’ve heard it said that we can die from boredom. As a child, I asked God to make sure He never gave me a boring life. That is one prayer He has answered. Now that I’m older, I’ve often told God I could use a tad more boring in my life.
Just when I get comfortable, it seems the path changes.
God isn’t into my comfort. He is into my growth and transformation.
Without change we will never grow.
If you’ve asked God to make you more like Him, if you’ve made Him your priority, I can guarantee your prayers will be answered. Just not in the way you might have thought.
Buckle in for the ride of your life.
There will be sudden twists and turns on the pathway.
Unexpected storms and restful streams.
Mountain heights and deep valleys.
Broad meadows and narrow places.
As you journey together, you will see the tender hand of God weaving something beautiful.
Inwardly a transformation will begin to take place as you come to rest in the truth that God is good, He cannot be anything but good.
As surely as the sun rises tomorrow, you can count on the fact that where God is taking you is better than anyplace you have yet been.
